The Brucoli lighthouse, built in 1911, is located at the gates of
the Valdinoto, a world heritage site. It is located on a peninsula
between the Ionian Sea and the Porcaria stream. It enjoys the
best view of Mount Etna and is located next to the castle of
Queen Giovanna of Aragon from the 1400s.
“The lighthouse contains a historical memory that must be
absolutely preserved and, thanks to the charm that these
locations enclose, it is possible to transform and convert them
into a model halfway between tourism, environment and
recovered architecture, which if well balanced, represents an
opportunity for doing culture and business at the same time”.
With the Valore - Paese - Dimore project, the Demanio Agency
has established a network of assets of great historical-
artistic and landscape value, including the Brucoli lighthouse,
selected throughout the country to be recovered and reused
for cultural-touristic purposes and for the development of the
territories according to a lighthouse accommodation model
which is respectful of the landscape and the environment,
and in the chosen coastal contexts emerge for absolute
beauty and maximum fragility.
