The portfolio of the architectural Bureau SL Project, founded

by Alexei Nikolashin – includes residential and public

spaces, townhouses, hotels, boutiques and apartments.

The geography of projects extends from Moscow, Yalta,

Sochi to Monte Carlo, Budva and Baku. The peculiarity of

how the SL Project studio works on projects is the use of

an architectural approach to the formation of space.

The apartment on Mosfilmovskaya street is not an

exception and its area, by modern standards, is not too

large – 120 m.

The customers wanted to have a living room with a large

group of sofas, a kitchen with an island and a dining

table, to make separate bedrooms for them and their

three children – two boys and a girl. According to Alexei

Nikolashin, it was not easy to take into account all these

wishes and implement them on such a space.

The apartment has an angular location and a large number

of windows, so the authors of the project decided to use

these advantages to obtain a spacious, bright volume,

combining the kitchen with a living room in the same area

with a laundry room. “We usually distinguish between the

kitchen and the living room with sliding partitions that

can “hide” in the wall, “explains Alexey Nikolashin. – but

was not possible in this apartment. Its advantage is a

panoramic window with access to the terrace, so I wanted

to make the room bright, without any partitions between

the kitchen and the living room.”

Alexey managed to realize also the bedrooms: he designed

three rooms – master bedrooms for the parents and two

children’s rooms – one for the girl, another for the boys.

For the master bedroom, the architect proposed a rather

unusual solution, combined with the bathroom to get a

single and spacious volume.

These two spaces are a continuation of each other, but

nevertheless have a separation by means of a sliding door

made of transparent glass. In the interior design cool and

warm colors, as well as smooth white surfaces combined

with wood as a floor covering and decorative element for

walls and ceilings.

This solution has a functional purpose: all utilities are

hidden under the wooden panels. For example, under

the ceiling in the hallway, and bathroom are the air

conditioning and air duct grilles.

Trees perform the function of zoning. The project also

uses marble, which is also always present in the works

of Alexei. This material is used as decoration on one of

the walls and built-in wardrobes in the master bathroom,

as well as a wall behind the work area in the kitchen. The

peculiarity of the project is textured rack walls made of

dark wood, as well as a wardrobe in the living room of

white cubic volumes, forming open and closed shelves. All

this emphasized the architectural approach of the author

to interior design. “we managed to make an ergonomic,

light volume,” concludes Alexey. – It was the fact that our

customers trusted us, and therefore got the result, which

satisfied 100%”.
