Services HANSA
– After cleaning, cleaning agent residues are thoroughly
rinsed off with clean, cold water to remove absolutely all
remaining cleaner residues.
For Plastics
contact with acetone (e.g. nail polish remover) and alcohol
(e.g. perfume, hair spray) must be avoided. Clean only
with an antistatic plastic cleaner or with a solution of
washing-up liquid. Avoid lengthy exposure to heat such as
direct sunlight or contact with hot objects!
6. Maintenance and General Safety Notes
– Corner and flush-mounted valves as well as other locking
elements should be actuated once every three months
and checked for leaks and proper function.
– Turn the temperature selector at the thermostat once
a month around the whole range from very cold to very
hot while the water flow is fully on. This causes possible
deposits to be loosened and flushed out. This leads to
your appreciation of your HANSA thermostat lasting
longer.
– Clean the shower’s jet pattern adjustments, filters and jet
covers regularly. Negligible scale deposits at the jet
covers can be removed by wiping with the ball of the
thumb or by „brushing“ with a soft brush.
Safety note for work on electrical components
(e.g. power supply unit, changing light fittings)
Ensure that the power is disconnected prior to starting
work on such equipment, e.g. disconnect the mains plug.
Caution halogen lamps! Do not touch the glass bulb with
bare hands when changing the lights, since the grease film
left on the glass bulb is burnt in and thereby the service
life of the lamp is considerably decreased.
CAUTION! We Recommend!
Proper inspection and possibly maintenance of the whole
system once every year by one of our skilled sanitary
experts.
Important Notes:
– Residues of body care substances such as liquid soap,
shampoos and shower gels can also cause damage.
The same applies to them: Rinse off residues well with
clean, cold water.
– The action of cleaning agents leads to the damage
deteriorating on already damaged surfaces.
5. Procedure for Removing Limescale
Residue on Other Surfaces
HANSAMURANO Glass Dish
– Prepare an approx. 1 % solution of citric acid (available in
chemist’s. Warning: Keep citric acid away from eyes and
open wounds. Rinse thoroughly with water if it comes
into contact with the skin!)
– Place a piece of a paper handkerchief or a tissue on
the affected area.
– Put a few drops of the citric acid on the affected area
(the tissue prevents the acid running off the area).
– Allow the acid to react for approx. 30 minutes; do not
allow to dry (if necessary, add a few more drops).
– Remove the tissue after approx. 30 minutes; if required
wipe gently with the still wet tissue. Never rub vigorously
with a dry tissue or anything similar.
– Rinse the treated area with water prior to the next use.
Repeat steps 2-5 if scale residues are still visible; if
necessary several times.
Other Surfaces/Materials Such as, e.g. Cut Glass
are to be cleaned properly with a soft, dry cloth. Stubborn
stains, e.g. grease, are easily removed by rubbing with
a chamois leather rinsed in clean, hot water. Do not use
chemicals or cleaning agents for cleaning cut glass mirrors.
Soap residue in cut glass soap dishes can cause the glass
to become dull after a length of time. Therefore rinse the
glass regularly with hot water and remove soap residues.
The glass is, of course, dishwasher safe if the glass wash
programme is set.
Important Notes:
Never use highly acidic descalents containing hydro-
chloric, phosphoric acids or anything similar!
Never remove scale by scratching off or scouring!
