PERCHÈ IL VETRO NELLA
RUBINETTERIA: TECNOLOGIA E
POTENZIALITÀ
Nell’evoluzione glamour di SO la definizione del materiale da indagare
non ha avuto molti concorrenti.
Già dai primi campioni le potenzialità del vetro sono apparse chiare,
soprattutto per valorizzare le cromie, i riflessi e la tattilità del prodotto.
Inoltre, la scelta è diventata per FIMA un’occasione in più per sottolineare
il design made in Italy, pensando alla tradizione italiana che fa della
lavorazione artigianale del vetro un
fiore all’occhiello. In questo caso
il piano trasla su un livello pi
ù industriale, ma cerca di non perderne il
valore poetico e il legame artistico sfruttando la tecnologia in questa
direzione.
I comandi in vetro della nuova SO AQUA COLLECTION si realizzano
tramite stampaggio a compressione.
La forma cilindrica ottenuta è cava per ospitare il sistema di aggancio
alle cartucce, dopo un’adeguata lavorazione per rispettare le strette
tolleranze imposte dal Sistema Qualità.
Ed è proprio da questa varietà di spessori che emergono le potenzialità
espressive del prodotto, perch
é è la stessa cavità della maniglia ad
essere verniciata. Il colore attraversa la profondità del materiale e si
riflette (diffonde) creando giochi cromatici affascinati e mai banali.
Il punto di vista influisce sulla percezione delle nuances continuando
ad alternare trasparenza e diffusione (traslucidità), che offrono effetti
ottici di grande impatto emozionale. Anche l’aspetto tattile di SO è
valorizzato dalla lavorazione superficiale del vetro. Le maniglie AQUA
COLLECTION possono essere infatti lucidate o sabbiate, per creare due
ulteriori varianti molto differenti sia a livello visivo sia come touch.

In the glamorous evolution of SO, the choice of material to explore didn’t
have many contenders.
From the first samples, the potential of glass became evident, particularly
in enhancing the chromatic qualities, reflections, and tactile aspects of the
product. Furthermore, this choice became another opportunity for FIMA
to emphasize Italian design, considering the Italian tradition that takes
pride in the artisanal craftsmanship of glass. In this case, the approach
shifts to a more industrial level but aims not to lose the poetic value and
artistic connection by harnessing technology in this direction.
The glass controls of the new SO AQUA COLLECTION is crafted
through pression molding glass. The cylindrical shape obtained is hollow
to accommodate the cartridge attachment system after proper processing
to meet the strict tolerances set by the Quality System.
It is precisely from this variety of thicknesses that the expressive potential
of the product emerges because the same handle’s cavity is painted.
The color penetrates the depth of the material and reflects (diffuses) to
create captivating and never ordinary chromatic plays. The perspective
influences the perception of nuances, continually alternating between
transparency and diffusion (translucency), offering visually impactful
effects with great emotional resonance.
The tactile aspect of SO is also enhanced by the surface treatment of
glass.
The handles in the AQUA COLLECTION can indeed be polished or
sandblasted, creating two additional variants that are very different both
visually and in terms of touch.
