Queen Mary II
Five swimming pools adorning the deck of Queen Mary 2, the
biggest cruiser in the world, have been covered with VitrA
porcelains. Queen Mary 2 has five decks, 2600 passenger
capacity and it is 345 m in length. Construction of this luxury
vessel was completed in December 2003 through efforts
of over 3000 workers with a total cost of 800 million Euros.
Pool tiles under VitrA Arkitekt products; pool and channel
edges, beading, corners, coveskirtings were designed
specially for the project by engineers of Queen Mary 2
and Eczacıbaşı VitrA Tiles Project Team. All the porcelain
materials and ceramic parts of pools were chosen from the
architectural program of VitrA. Vessel building engineers
and VitrA engineers cooperated to respond to specific
requirements for the construction of Queen Mary 2.
