AIRPORT

Berlin-Schönefeld Airport

The international Berlin-Schönefeld Airport is currently

one of Berlin’s three airports. The facility is scheduled to be

transformed into Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport

in 2011, when the other two airports will close and BBI will

remain as the German capital’s single airport with an up to

50 million passenger capacity. Founded in 1934, the historic

Berlin-Schönefeld is popular with vacationers, and is often

referred to as ‘The Holiday Airport’ due to its international

charter flight load.

VitrA Ararat Ivory Porcelain tiles were chosen to cover the

check-in areas of the recently renovated Terminal D of

Berlin-Schönefeld. A total of 8,000 m2 gleaming Ararat Ivory

cheerfully greets the passengers as they make their way to

and from sunny destinations. Manufactured to endure the

challenges of high traffic areas, stylish VitrA porcelain tiles

remain a favorite of international projects across the globe.
