How should people of today interpret the record high auction prices for pieces by Lassen?

When someone today—almost 100 years later—is willing to pay a very high price at auction for furniture

designed by Mogens and Flemming Lassen around 1935, that simply tells us that their designs are still relevant

and relatable. Their furniture should not be considered as museum pieces.

In an age when our perceptions are changing faster than light because of technological and social

developments, it is striking that, 80–90 years later, we can sit in one of their chairs and still perceive

it to be applicable and fresh.
